Adelaide Illustrators is a community of local SA creative's focused on creating visual solutions for their clients. From publishing, editorial and storyboarding, to fine art, murals and pattern design, our local talent pool is made up of professionals and emerging talent that work across the breadth of the industry.
Starting as a series of catchup's at local watering holes in 2007 and the creation of the IMBIBE blogspot by Graham McArthur, Adelaide Illustrators true journey began in 2008 with the launch of its inaugural exhibition as part of the SALA festival. Thank's to the efforts of Harry Slaghekke, Murray Van, Roger Roberts, Mandy Foot and Rowan Dodds, the 1st exhibition was launched in August in the then foyer of Blacksheep Advertising on Rundle Street. With 13 participants, 3 dozen bottles of wine and the invaluable assistance of Neil Turner from Croydon TAFE who organised the printing of the banners, our journey was underway.

In 2011, after 3 successful exhibitions and a growing network of local creators, the name of Adelaide Illustrators was born and our first official website was developed with the assistance of Murray Van and John McLellan. In 2014, the decision was made to archive the exhibitions and maintain the Adelaide Illustrators group through website only, coordinated by Murray Van and Harry Slaghekke.
